Thomas S. Bellavia, M.D., Chairman, Board of Managers  Email Dr. Bellavia

Dr. Bellavia is the founder of Osler Health IPA and its president and CEO.

With over forty years in private practice, Dr. Bellavia has amassed numerous accolades within the medical community and served on several public committees, including the Governors Committee on Cost Containment, Quality Assurance Committee (Gubernatorial appointment) and the Medical Assistance Advisory Council. Dr. Bellavia has current teaching appointments at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He achieved the rank of Major in the US Army Medical Corps and is a member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians as well as a member of the American Medical Association. Dr. Bellavia is a graduate of New York University, BA and the University of Rome (Italy), MD, with graduate training at the Hackensack University Medical Center, New Jersey.

He serves with James Doulgeris on the U.S. House Physician’s Health Care Policy Group.

James Doulgeris, Chief Executive Officer, Board of Managers  Email Mr. Doulgeris

Mr. Doulgeris is a co-founder of Osler Health Management and Osler Health ACO. He has over a quarter century of executive healthcare management experience, primarily as president, CEO and director of for-profit, non-profit, public and private companies in the hospital, ancillary provider, medical device and health care services sectors.

He has also led two start-ups from concept to funding to profitability, the first, National Comtel Systems, a hospital contract manager that grew to the be the fifth largest hospital contact manager of any kind, was sold to Primark Corporation, a Fortune 500 NYSE public company. The second, MinSurg International, a medical device company that invented and holds patents for one of the first “intermediate” minimally invasive spine fusion surgeries among other groundbreaking spine and small joint resurfacing devices is still in operation. Doulgeris retired as its co-founder, president and CEO in 2008.

After fulfilling a personal promise to write a novel, “The Dyodyne Experiment,” released internationally in June, 2009 and winner of best new fiction in 2009, he returned to health care as senior strategist for HCP, a national consulting and strategy firm, while also serving on boards of directors and providing analysis and board level consulting engagements.

Serving on the U.S. House Physician’s Health Care Policy Group is a recognition of Mr. Doulgeris’ skills and expertise in the health care industry, direct knowledge of what and those who will be shaping the industry in the coming years.

Doulgeris also worked in high-level crisis and turnaround management capacities for 14 years in a variety of industries with an emphasis on healthcare providers.

Nicholas Bonvicino, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S., Chief Medical Officer, Board of Managers  Email Dr. Bonvicino

Dr. Bonvicino has over 25 years of managed health care experience at various leadership roles within provider organizations and managed health plans. He has an excellent track record as a physician leader. As Regional Medical Director for The Garden State Medical Group, the largest multispecialty medical practice and integrated delivery system in New Jersey, he guided his region’s performance to clinical excellence and turned around his regions financial performance.

Dr. Bonvicino has great knowledge of outpatient care delivery models having had responsibility for the overall performance of three health centers in Northern New Jersey.

As Senior Medical Director for Clinical Network Management at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Dr. Bonvicino was responsible for the development of several physician incentive programs for managed care plan designs that promoted both cost efficiency as well as improvement of measurable quality of care. Dr. Bonvicino developed the clinical content for one of the first physician profiling efforts nationally to involve medical and surgical specialists. That work, which included profiles on 14 different medical specialties, led to the implementation of a physician recognition program that was recognized by America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) in their publication Innovations in Recognizing and Rewarding Quality in 2009.

Dr. Bonvicino is known throughout the health care industry in New Jersey as a progressive strategic thinker who has continuously championed the alignment of insurer and provider interests. He has spoken nationally on subjects of physician performance measurement and pay for performance. He was hand chosen to be one of the initial employees of Horizon Healthcare Innovations (HHI), a subsidiary company of Horizon BCBS-NJ, whose mission is to develop new and innovative delivery and reimbursement pilots to drive reform and reengineer the health care delivery system in the post PPACA era.

Ron W. Manke, Vice President, Provider Support           Email Mr. Manke

Ronald Manke is the Vice President, Provider Support, for Osler Health. Ron is responsible for guiding participating providers in value based reimbursement programs and helping with shared savings models. He brings a mandate to provide Osler participating providers with the technology, program responsibilities, workflows, patient engagement programs and services they need to succeed. Ron also supports physicians and their staff to assist them in having a meaningful voice with health plans and is a powerful asset to the and advocate for them.

Mr. Manke is the former North Jersey director for NJ-HITEC and the former program director for the NJII Practice Transformation Network, leading New Jersey providers into value based care. Ron is a leader in delivering healthcare reform programs aimed at increasing quality and decreasing cost. Ron also works with health plans to transform physician practice behavior by encouraging per member per month incentives. He has been assisting physicians with CMS programs such as Meaningful Use, PQRS, DSRIP, Accountable Care and analytics within their electronic medical record systems.

Ron has a strong background in practice transformation, work flow modification, change management and training. He has completed the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) training programs for both patient centered medical home and accountable care organizations and received his BS in marketing from the University of Phoenix.
